Koshy's.......

Koshy's..... the name epitomises history in every sense.....Koshy's is still one of the few places in Bangalore that have stood the March of Time and has successfully transcended the barriers of change and still stands tall in a City where Pubs and Lounge Bars are the talk of the day.
Located at the posh commercial area of St. Mark's Road (Opp the Grand Old LIC building),Koshy's is one of the few Colonial buildings to function in all it's glory.
Started way back in early 1940's (then a small bakery), Koshy's has seen the city change from being a dull Pensioner's Paradise to the bustling IT hub that it is today.
The Decor of the reastaurant comprises of old world furniture with blend seamlessly with the granite pillars. Definitely not savvy, but history in every sense of the word. Koshy's has played host to a variety of Bangaloreans ranging from the social elite to the every day office goer, from ministers to college students. This place continues to surprise me with the kind of crowd it manages to draw even to this day, in a city ruled by pubs and theme discos.
Are you a loner, want to a sip a cup of the ubiquitous filter coffee, want to hang out with your pals, want to grab a quick bite as you flip through the evening newspaper, Want some quality time with your girlfriend without the usual prying eyes or just want to make some new friends. Well, then this is the place to be. A place where people of all ages have a feeling of acceptance.
This is what makes Koshy's the heaven that it is........the perfect blend of young and old, with a dash of history seems to be the perfect recipe for that nostalgic evening.
Comprising of the smoking area and the non-smoking AC Jewel Box, Koshy's plays home to all. A meal for two would cost anywhere between Rs.1000- Rs.1200, a little expensive, but considering that every piece of history has price, this place is definitely worth the penny.
If you still haven't been there...be sure to take some time out and make this special journey called Koshy's.
